An Alternative to Windows Hosting

Friday, August 10th, 2007

There are a number of different kinds of web hosting in the world today and what people find ultimately is that the larger amount of choice makes things more competitive which in turn serves to drive down the prices and ensure that people are able to buy cheap web hosting if that is what they specifically want.

For some people however, that really is not what they want. ecommerce hosting is not something that people ultimately want to be really cheap. There is a difference between cheap and cost effective; something that costs a low amount of money to the exclusion of all else is cheap while something that costs an amount of money that you can easily recoup through its use is cost effective.

For many people, Linux hosting can be very cost effective because of the advantages that it has over Windows hosting in the area of greater mobility of freedom to do advanced coding in many areas.

The Computer Forums

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

The Computer Forums are the online community on the World Wide Web. The web site is 1 year old and is powered by vBulletin. There are more than 9,000 members and 14,000 posts in this site. This site seems to work well in my Mozilla Firefox as well as Internet Explorer. There are no pop-ups and minimum advertisements.

The site is relatively fast, maybe because of the fact that it is powered by Linux servers. Users can also donate by clicking on the donate link. Donations are accepted to pay for their ever increasing bandwidth, hosting, domain registrations, maintanance and software licensing.

Overall the template designs are very sleek and simple and I think that works for this site. It is really simple and you are not supposed to be a computer geek to understand this site.

The colours scheme chosen for this site is white background with blue buttons and links.
